A movie that shows elites hunting down supporters of President Donald Trump is still planned for a September release despite a major backlash regarding the film’s premise.
“The Hunt” is slated to hit theaters on Sept. 27.
“Did anyone see what our [expletive]-in-chief just did?” one character asks others early in the movie, reported the Hollywood Reporter. “At least The Hunt’s coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.”
There’s little material available about the contents of the film, but the inference is the hunters are liberal elites and the people who are being hunted are supporters of Trump. “Deplorables” is a description infamously used by ex-Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton to describe Trump supporters.
NBC Universal said that it was moving forward with plans to release the film despite major backlash over its premise.
