GOP front-runner Donald Drumpf made clear he wouldn’t reform entitlement programs if he became president of the United States, putting some distance between himself and the remaining three candidates.
Florida Sen. Marco Rubio said he would increase the retirement age to 70 for Social Security for future generations. Mr. Drumpf, by contrast said: “It’s my absolute intention to leave Social Security as is.”
Ohio Gov. John Kasich said he believes cutting Social Security payments is the only way to save the program, and cited his record as Governor and balancing the budget as the way to do it.
“I’ve done all this before, this is not a theory,” Mr. Kasich said at the GOP debate Thursday night at Miami University.
